About Us.

We want to create a place where we can encounter Jesus, become more like Him, and reflect His love wherever we go.

We’re not here to simply to gather a crowd, but to form a people – rooted in Scripture, empowered by the Spirit, and committed to the love and mission of Christ. We believe the local church is God’s instrument for the renewal of people and communities. Where the presence of God is central, not peripheral. The gospel is proclaimed with clarity and conviction. The broken find restoration. The lonely find family. The called are equipped and released.

Worship.

Presence before performance. We prioritise intimacy in God’s presence, over religious activity. Honesty over hype. Worship is not a prelude; it is the centre. We value times of sung worship together, space for the Holy Spirit to move in us and speak to our hearts, space for us to respond in prayer and adoration.

Theological
Foundation.

We stand within the historic, orthodox Christian faith, and the theological ethos of the Vineyard Church movement. We affirm:

  • The authority of Scripture

  • Salvation by grace through faith

  • The present ministry of the Holy Spirit

  • The ongoing reality of the Kingdom of God, the ‘already and not yet’

We pursue both Word and Spirit. Not one or the other, but both.

"We in the Vineyard have, from the very outset of our ministry, made worship our highest priority. Believing that it is God's desire that we become, first, worshippers of God." John Wimber

Gospel Centred
Formation.

The gospel is not just the doorway to faith, but it’s the foundation of life and transformation. We commit to teaching that is clearly communicated, rooted in Scripture, and honours and exalts God. We’ll create and maintain intentional discipleship pathways, and spiritual disciplines that form mature and healthy believers. We are not consumers of the church; we are apprentices of Jesus.

Compassion.

Jesus consistently moved towards the wounded, the marginalised, the poor, and overlooked. And so will we.

We aim to create a safe pastoral environment for everybody; pursuing emotional and spiritual healing, serving the poor and vulnerable, and cultivating a culture of mercy, not of judgment.

Spirit Empowered
Ministry.

We expect the Holy Spirit to act. Pursuing spiritual gifts with reverence, humility and discernment. Praying for healing. Listening for prophetic encouragement. Depending on God rather than on our own technique or understanding. We seek neither hype nor reputation, just faithful obedience to what God is asking.

Authentic
Community.

Church is not an event; it is a covenant people. We value hospitality, intergenerational and intercultural relationships. Honest conversation. Accountability and encouragement. We believe transformation happens best in the context of covenant community.

Everyday Mission.

Every believer is sent. Mission is not a programme but an identity. We equip ourselves to share our faith naturally, serving our workplaces, neighbours and communities. Living distinctively holy lives, praying for God’s Kingdom to come.

We proclaim Jesus as Lord, and call people to repentance and faith in Him. We gather to worship and we scatter to witness.

Leadership
Integrity.

We believe leadership in the church is both a privilege and a responsibility. We commit to servant-hearted leadership, shared through a team of Elders, transparent governance, and accountability. With the continued raising and releasing of new leaders, we’re aiming to build something that lasts longer than us.

Our Prayer.

Lord, make The Landing Place Vineyard a house of Your presence, a home for the lost, a school of disciples, and a base for Your mission. Let Your Kingdom come, here on the South Coast, as it is in Heaven.
